Kevin O’Brien‘s Finding Country Exhibition explores ideas in relation to the spatial use of Country (aboriginal place) in Australia.
Contributors to the exhibition were asked to respond to a specific section from a map of Brisbane city, and reinterpret the land use.
A crowdfunded campaign was undertaken to take the exhibition to the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale, with The Letter D asked to design the catalogue and accompanying website.
A suite of Information Sheets for the Media have been developed for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, with an accompanying Word format to allow in-house editing and distribution.
While collaborating on various other projects, the copywriter Alan James asked The Letter D to assist in typesetting and specifying one of the pieces he was putting together, as part of an exhibition of his text-based artwork.
Referencing oval vanity mirrors, the diamond-etched lettering creates a bevel-edged effect reminiscent of traditional mirror signage.
‘Signs of Life’ opens at the Redland Art Gallery, from the 4th to the 29th of December.
AM30, the sister project to Marquette Properties’ AM60, recently launched, with an identity, leasing kit and signage underway.
The Great Barrier Reef Foundation was launching its portfolio of research projects at the Goldman Sachs offices in Sydney and asked The Letter D to develop a small run of documents and collateral for the launch.
A french folded cover and tactile sleeve were added to give the documents a touch of luxury.

A large background projection was also produced for the launch presentation.
The Great Barrier Reef Foundation was invited to take part in this year’s Clinton Global Initiative in New York, and asked The Letter D to develop a small piece to introduce the initiatives the Foundation undertakes.
The piece was designed to be small enough to fit into a handbag, for brief elevator/foyer meetings at the conference, yet large enough to fit a DVD, for future event applications.
The booklet’s text information was kept free of imagery, for those simply interested in getting the details quickly, with a sequence of individual reef creatures displayed inside a foldout cover, for those looking to discover the hidden beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.
A practice profile and A4 document format has been developed for McVeigh, as part of an overall review of the practice’s collateral.
An interim website for McVeigh has been developed while the main website takes shape.
The Letter D was also asked to update the internal documents for users to download, with project profiles and job description PDFs being the first cabs off the rank.
A small promotional card for Doree Mending has been developed as part of an offer for local fashion retailers and their clientele.
A suite of business cards and postcards have been produced for Doree Mending, cropping the original advertising posters on one side with a ribbon detail tying the old to the new.
