In the build-up to the launch of Capital P, our new publishing venture, Dan Pike took the opportunity to produce a series of Type Tips.

The first one being a prompter for students, and it seems some studios, to navigate one of the design industry’s most important nouns.

A new suite of stationery has been produced to accompany the recent identity update and promo poster for Kevin O’Brien Architects.

As part of their recent identity update, Kevin O’Brien Architects asked The Letter D to also develop a short-run mailout, showcasing the main typologies the practice works within.

Designed to sit within a folded cover letter, the A3 poster’s offset folds allow the content on both sides to interact as it’s unfolded.

T-shirts were required for Pet Emergency‘s end of year break-up, with the brief being to note the surge in paralysis tick cases this year.

Their identity’s typeface, Vag Rounded, was tweaked to suit this monospaced application.

As A-CH moves into their 5th year, they asked The Letter D to develop their annual teatowel.

Keeping with the North Point transition theme from last year, five of the 4th year’s North Point generate the pentagon for 2012, along with a star in time for the festive season.

Queensland Veterinary Specialists were looking to produce a combined end of year gift with Pet Emergency and asked The Letter D to develop a teatowel for clients’ kitchens.

We proposed using an age old adage, mixing in both identities so that they would both be visible, whichever way the teatowel was hung.

A bespoke die-cut swing tag for Vetwell to promote their online shop, complete with a subtle $ sign for an extra touch of retail.

The Cloakroom took out a full page space in The Australian’s WISH magazine and asked The Letter D to develop the direction.

The shopfront photograph, with new signage installed, provided the opportunity to use the base image, as the name/identity was already displayed, with some minor tweaking for print.

Access Shop Fitouts approached The Letter D to develop an identity launch suite to rollout their new venture in regional Queensland.

As the acronym was going to become the prime identifier, a logotype was developed alluding to step ladders and shop drawings, with extended lines to convey separate letters.
