As it ‘turned out’, The Letter D’s studio just so happened to be in the centre of the poster, so we centred the credits, with the separating ‘X’s between packets pinpointing the building.

Young Australian artist Ben Quilty, represented by Jan Murphy Gallery, was after an alternate direction for the catalogue showcasing his exhibition at the 2006 Melbourne Art Fair.

A poster format was developed to best represent the centrepiece created for the exhibition. When folded down to a booklet size the reader is presented with two ways of opening the catalogue – either to an explanatory essay or to a selection of four of his artworks.

The four panels of artwork show a metamorphosis from skull to burger, with the front/back cover and essay panels displaying a full-scale detail of his distinctive style of painting.
