As part of their recent identity update, Kevin O’Brien Architects asked The Letter D to also develop a short-run mailout, showcasing the main typologies the practice works within.

Designed to sit within a folded cover letter, the A3 poster’s offset folds allow the content on both sides to interact as it’s unfolded.

KOA / Identity Edit / 22.02.2012

As the practice of Kevin O’Brien Architects develops over time, they are looking to reflect each stage with an identity edit.

After fine-tuning their initial identity in 2008, The Letter D’s second edit takes a more typographic approach, aligning the initials to highlight the acronym (and web domain) KO/A.

KOA / Profile / Poster / 30.03.2010

Kevin O’Brien Architects asked The Letter D to refresh their inhouse practice profile. Using the raw/base colour idea developed for their identity, a CMYK booklet was developed with 3 main subjects: profile; people; and projects.

The booklet splits to display the profile and people from each end, and the cover unfolds to reveal two selected projects, in full colour.

KOA / Website / 19.09.2008

Following on from Kevin O’Brien Architects‘ identity face-lift, a content managed website has been launched, with three main sections outlined from the initial review.

A base RGB screen colour was used for each section, in keeping with the raw colour palette of CMYK ink used for the practice’s printed stationery.

KOA / Identity Refresh / 04.07.2008

The emerging architectural studio set up by Kevin O’Brien approached The Letter D to evolve their existing identity, and develop an ideas-based website as a way of showcasing both their projects and research papers written for various publications, journals, submissions, etc.

We kept the old template typeface and simply reformatted its style, with raw colours used for various applications under development…
