The magazine Desktop invited a studio from each Australian state capital to create a psychogeographic map of their city.

Dan Pike’s response utilised the geomapping ability of Instagram to capture the landmarks and moments that have made an impression on The Letter D.

Referencing oval vanity mirrors, the diamond-etched lettering creates a bevel-edged effect reminiscent of traditional mirror signage.

SLQ / Book Spreads / 18.07.2010

The State Library of Queensland‘s book is now in the final stages of production. With the working title The ABC of SLQ, The Letter D photographed elements of the building’s architecture to form the 26 chapter intros——detailing each letter of the alphabet.

The book was developed as a ‘scrapbook’ of resources, illustrating the diversity of SLQ’s collection, as well as documenting Donovan Hill’s architectural journey – almost like a ‘how to design a library’ book.
