The Letter D.

ACH / Teatowel / 15.12.2010

With the recent commission of a practice North Point for Atelier Chen Hung, The Letter D was asked to develop a client gift for 2010.

Taking its cue from the transition of their 3rd to 4th year of practice, the corresponding North Points were combined, with a hint at a new identity and website to launch in 2011.

FIN / Website Update / 10.12.2010

After five years it was time to give Fine Print‘s website a freshen up, with a dynamic CMS allowing latest news and inter-linking of site content to be managed by Fine Print.

The main feature is the ability to tag and categorise each new print project for future sample library integration. A great resource for Fine Print’s design clients, and their clients, looking for similar print finishes.

AGDA / 2010 Awards Collateral / 08.12.2010

As promised, we’ve had a chance to photograph the suite of collateral produced for the 2010 AGDA National Awards Gala Presentation Dinner.

An origami pyramid was developed for the centrepiece, with the inside printed as a poster. A nod to Al Jaffee, as when folded only the 2010 identity was visible, with the red cross created by the internal reflection.

The combined A6 ticket for the Gala Dinner and After Party was perforated for each event with a stub provided as a memento. The location images on the reverse referenced the event’s satellite imagery, with X marking the spot.

In keeping with the theme of generic design formats, A4 menus were folded down to A5 ‘tents’, with all type set in the standard Times New Roman.

And lastly, the wine labels took a literal direction, with white for white and red for red — and a zig-zag initial (W/R) for those that were stumped by the colour system.

SJA / Christmas Card / 03.12.2010

With a decade of practicing architecture in Townsville, and a satellite studio set up in Brisbane, Stephen de Jersey approached The Letter D to develop a commemorative piece.

Whilst the content is gathered over the holidays a Christmas card has been developed to subtly reference their geographic scope from Castle Hill to Mt Coot-tha, and beyond.
